is an SME that develops innovative custom software solutions and provides consulting engineering services in the fields of Computer Vision, Photogrammetry, Machine Learning, Remote Sensing and Metrology. up2metric as a service provider specializes in data capture from multiple terrestrial, airborne or satellite sensors (RGB, thermal, multispectral, hyperspectral, depth), data processing and analysis of extracted information. One of the company’s main goals is to transfer state of the art knowledge from academia to the market.
Why up2metric?
Our name is a reference to Computer Vision theory and specifically to multiple view geometry and stratification of 3D reconstructions from uncalibrated cameras. While in the general case such reconstructions are “up to a projective” ambiguity of 3-space, this ambiguity can be resolved by additional information on the cameras or the scene. In this manner 3D reconstructions are defined “up to metric” transformations (i.e. Euclidean up to unknown scale). It is also a reference to “The Erlangen program”, a method of characterizing geometries based on group theory, published by Felix Klein in 1872.
